A Step Backwards

From James, Kacey & Jaden... Everything with Jaden seemed to be going way to smoothly, James and I have been so excited about how well Jaden has done with this second open heart surgery, Today was the big day "Going Home" shortest stay out of all 13 major surgeries he has experienced. Heart rounds yesterday (Friday) went great they said Jaden will go home Tomorrow (Saturday) so all our hearts were rejoicing until around 4:00 p.m. yesterday he started acting like he was starring off in to space real irritable and then got terribly sick with his feeds, wretching, gagging, awful high pitched cry and we knew then this is how he acts when his Brain Shunt is malfunctioning. So the nurse called Nero right away, he went down for an emergency Head CT. So while we are waiting Jaden's Neurologist meets with us and is going over and reminding us of all the complications that being put on Heart Bypass could do to Jaden's brain and shunt. Results from Head CT showed that Jaden's brain shunt is working just fine his ventricles are normal size, but he has had another brain hemorrhage on the outside of the brain in between his outer part of brain and his skull. Having blood in the brain causes all the same symptoms as a shunt malfunction which is extremely painful, so with the heart doctors and us not knowing anything about the blood being in his brain they stopped all his pain meds and we were only giving him Motrin which he was having a little withdraws from no pain med and because his head was killing him that 's when he started showing the signs. Our hearts are breaking for him now because we do not know what this means or how things are gonna be handled just yet. He just got back from getting a new Head CT for today's rounds. We will let you know when we know. Please pray about the blood and that we can get some answers this morning. He is so sick and weak and when he continues to wretch and gag it hurts his chest incision so bad. We are praying so hard he will not have to go through another brain surgery, Please Pray......
