Christmas day evening we set out with my parents to head down to the Wiist side (mom's side) of the family for our Christmas gathering with them. It was getting close to dinner time and the only thing open on Christmas Day is Chinese or the Huddle House. So in order for the kids to eat...we chose the Huddle House. It was warm and the waffles were yummy! The kids ate every last bite. I have always wondered who eats out and why on Christmas Day...this year...we were those people:) LOL! Back on the road again...and we soon hit Cadiz, KY.
It's a large clan of people gathered in a reasonable sized house, that use to seem so big when we cousins were all small, but over the years as we have grown, gotten married, had kids of our own, the house seems really small when we are all gathered there. It's loud, lots of talking, kids running every where, eating, lots of picture taking, eating, games, laughter, dirty Santa exchange, and more eating. We are all snuggled in tight and it's craziness....but we wouldn't have it any other way!!! It's the Wiist way and we love it!!!!
This year Grandma is ill with pnuemonia and is in the hospital...we were sad she couldn't be with us, but we were all able to visit with her at different times throughout the weekend, and we know she is being well taken care of and needed to be in the hospital in order to get well soon!!!! We love you and miss you Grandma!!! Get well soon!!!
