Hangin' out in the PICU

Just wanted to send out an afternoon update and a couple of pictures of Jaden hanging out in the PIC-U we took them in black and white because his color is still a little off and we thought they looked better this way. We had such a better night now that the Doctors have Jaden's pain under control. He slept all night and we were able to catch up on some sleep as well.

The Heart Team rounded this morning and decided to keep Jaden's chest tubes in for another day or so depending upon how much output they have, they said that chest tubes are usually in for 48 to 72 hours. They removed the dressing on Jaden's chest just a couple of minutes ago. We were so worried about how his scar was going to look, because his first operation he was so small they couldn't close his chest right away the scar looked a little pulled and stretched but now since he's bigger it looks really nice and straight so we are glad that he will have a nicer looking scar (Battle Wounds that Jaden will get to show off to all his FRIENDS when he gets big).

We just got back from getting his MRI, it took a little longer because they had to completely sedate him. It will take a couple of hours to get the results. We are praying so hard that the brain stem is OK.

They have stopped all the pain drips so the only pain med he is getting is oral now no more IV meds. He is still on 1/2 liter of oxygen which they told us they will leave him on this while he is in hospital just to help his heart out while it is adjusting to it's new way of operating..... We will let everyone know the results of his MRI when we get them.
