Every year on Christmas Eve we get together with dad's side of the family, the McDowell side. We eat, play dirty Santa, laugh, and eat some more. It's probably one of my favorite traditions at Christmas. This year it was at Uncle Mike's house, their new log cabin, built by him and his wife! It's so comfortable and cozy! Thanks for having us!
This year we had a special gift from Pete... he had made us all rocking chairs by hand (they are small... to sit on a shelf). They are so neat! Thanks uncle Pete! The kids had a lot of fun playing. Jenna liked the rocking chair the most. Jagger and Riley played with the fire truck.
While we were there we even kept track of where Santa was on the computer. He had just left Africa when we were getting ready to come home... my he still had a long way to travel that night! Jagger thought that was pretty cool... we could track where Santa was on the computer. Thanks Nancy for tracking Santa for us!
Then before we leave Uncle Ray passes out homemade pecan rolls to everyone that he makes for us every year. It's another one of my favorite things at Christmas! He has made us pecan rolls for us to eat on Christmas morning for as long as I can remember! We open presents on Christmas Day morning, and then warm up our yummy pecan rolls for breakfast. So goooood, and made with lots of love! It's special that my kids are even getting to partake of the Christmas pecan rolls now. Thanks Uncle Ray! Until next year... love to you all!
